Privacy Policy

The short version

CAP is a text-message accountability service. We use your phone number for one thing: to text you about your projects. We never sell, share, or rent your information, and we never use it for advertising.

This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you sign up and use CAP, we collect:

  • ·Your name (or whatever you choose to be called), phone number, and email address.
  • ·Your payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. We keep a Stripe customer reference so we can manage your subscription.
  • ·The content of your text conversations with CAP, and the projects, tasks, and deadlines you share. This is what lets CAP remember your goals and keep you on track.

How we use it

We use your information only to operate the service:

  • ·To send you accountability check-ins and respond to your messages.
  • ·To remember your projects and progress so CAP stays useful over time.
  • ·To process your subscription and handle billing changes.
  • ·To keep the service working, secure, and improving.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not use your phone number or conversations for advertising. Ever.

Who we share it with (service providers)

To run CAP, we rely on a few trusted services that process data on our behalf — never for their own purposes:

  • ·Stripe — payment processing.
  • ·Our messaging provider — to send and receive your texts.
  • ·Anthropic (Claude) — to generate CAP's responses.
  • ·Our hosting and database providers — to store and run the service securely.

How we may use aggregate data

We may compute anonymous, aggregate statistics across all users — for example, the total number of projects completed, or the percentage of users who hit their first deadline. These figures are summaries across many people and never identify any individual. We may share aggregate statistics publicly (for example, on our website); we never share the underlying individual data.

Your choices

You can cancel anytime by texting CAP. You can update your billing details through the secure Stripe link CAP provides.

You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@capsms.app. We'll honor verified deletion requests.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active so CAP can do its job. If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our active systems, except where we are required to keep limited records (for example, billing records for tax and accounting).

Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures and limit access to it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.

Children

CAP is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date below and, where appropriate, let you know. Continued use of CAP after changes means you accept the updated policy.
